5 min - Making your own mayonnaise can seem hard, but this recipe makes it very simple. It will take you 5 minutes and the result is DELICIOUS. Bon appétit!
Ingredients:
10 cl of vegetable oil (or about 0.4 cups)
1 egg yolk
1 big spoon of mustard
salt and pepper, of course!
VERY IMPORTANT: take the egg out of the fridge about 5 minutes before using it, you need the yolk to be at room temperature, it will make everything way easier!
Let the magic happen!
In a bowl ("cul de poule"), put the egg yolk, the big spoon of mustard and a pinch of salt of pepper
Stir well with a whisk
Start pouring the oil little by little, you do not want to add the oil too quickly
Whisk until the oil is fully incorporated and add a little drizzle of oil
Repeat until you have added all of the oil
Technical Note: Tilt the bowl in and, moving only your wrist, form a "laying 0" with your whisk. Whisking your mayonnaise can even serve as the physical activity of your day!
